Lisbon-based angolan singer/songwriter/performer Pongo has firmly established herself as one of the best Afro-Fusion artists working today. From her sellout shows around Europe, famous for their raw energy, to her captivating COLORS Studio performace, Pongo has become a true vanguard of modern African pop.
A formerly of cult favorite electro-crossover band Buraka Som Sistema (joining when she was just 16), Pongo has built a huge following since going solo for her blend of traditional Angolan stylings with hard-hitting, energetic electronic production, seeing her shortlisted for African Artist of the Year at the Kora Awards in 2024 for her album 'Sakidila' and her song 'Kuzola' featuring on the Fifa 23 Soundtrack.
Pongo marked the start of a new creative cycle with her single 'Katana' - a fiery, exhilarating track that immediately fired her to 3 the TikTok Viral Charts.
Now, she presents 'Sugar Rush', a feat with the artist NoMBe, with a joyful energ in a melodic fusion of pop and afro-beats.
